Welcome to the 8th Retro Running World Championship
Retro running is another term for running backwards. Every two years Retro Runners from around the globe gather to compete running backwards across all the traditional athletic distances.
Great Britain will be hosting the 8th IRR World Championship for the first time in July 2020 after the success of the 7th event staged at Bologna, Italy in 2018.
Registration for the event will not open until the spring but if you would like to register on our mailing list please send a message using our contact form below.
The Championship will be held around Enfield, North London with 2 days of track based competition ranging from 100m to 10km held at Lee Valley Stadium. On Sunday we will host a half marathon in nearby Albany Park.
The event is open to young and old alike with a junior class for 10 to 15 year olds as well as veteran and super veteran categories for over 40 and 55 years respectively.
Would you be interested in supporting our event? The last couple of World Championship meetings have attracted about 200 athletes from around the world. Any profits from the event will go to charity. Please contact us to register your interest.
